Some explanation is necessary first for the computer unsavvy folks out there. Is unsavvy even a word? I should trademark it, and start a company. Then I could charge people $5 for every use of the word unsavvy. Which makes me think of something else, but I’ll get to that in a second. Xgl is a new graphics engine that does all sorts of cool effects on your ordinary desktop. It’s available for linux, and is a breeze to get running on the dapper drake release of Ubuntu. If you want to be blown away, watch this video. It’s a large file, but really cool, and well worth the wait.
