round boxes

This is a work in progress. It will probably be in various working states between now and tomorrow (Thursday). Hopefully I can get this fully implemented throughout my website. That would be the coolest. It might take a bit of work though. Yikes!

toys

I like snow. I even like ice. I just think it should stay off the road and keep out from under my tires. Mandy and I left for Nebraska on Thursday afternoon, and hit the worst weather ever near Pierre, South Dakota. We drove 45 mph for the next eon, and finally arrived in North Platte on Friday at 3:00 AM. Almost went in the ditch once, and that was exciting. At least the bad roads kept me awake.
We spent the majority of the weekend doing wedding “stuff”. It wasn’t too bad, and I’m still alive. I was actually excited to get back to work this time. We got all the parts for our new storage server, as well as 2 Kodak DX7630’s. It was awesome, and we had lots of fun today playing with our new toys. The edn (sorry, edn killed end in a drive-by shooting on Saturday).

copyleft

In an effort to promote public awareness of copyrights, I have licensed my site under a Creative Commons license. CCL-Attribution version 2.0 to be exact. What this means is that you can do anything you want with anything you find on this page, so long as you give me credit for it. This includes commercial use, and modifying my content for your own purposes. So have at it already. What I’m really saying is that I hate copyright law, and think it’s outdated. If you use copyrights, it’s for one of two reasons:
1. You’re greedy
2. You’re ignorant of a better alternative
If you can come up with another reason, feel free to correct me via email (there’s a link at the bottom).

yikes

So i tried to make my site conform to “the rules”. It didn’t like that and bit me. No really, I’ve got the marks to prove it. Plus it turned all the text blue when you would put your mouse over the page. So I gave up on that. I would like to mention that at least my CSS conforms to CSS v. 2.0 standards. But Internet Exploder doesn’t support that (even though CSS v. 3.0 is already out), so my site still looks funny in IE. You may be asking, “What other option do I have?” Please scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the little Get Firefox image. You’ll like it, and your computer will thank you.

ooh, pretty

Casey discovered the new coolest thing in the world today. It is neat. Yeah, you already saw it. That cool fadey thingy. I’ll be using it all the time from now on, just for your viewing pleasure.

massive

We took 1.43 tons of computer parts out to the dump today. Wow. I can’t believe the three of us hauled moved that much weight around. In other ‘massive’ news, I finished watching volume three of Invader Zim (the ‘massive’ being the flagship of the Irken empire). It was pretty good, although not quite as stellar as the first two volumes. It got pretty morbid, and not so funny anymore. There was one about Zim getting rebanished to Food Courtia. That was pretty funny. The Christmas one was a little dark, but among the better episodes. Zim Eats Waffles wasn’t quite as good the second time around, but Tak was stellar in her own evil little way. The one’s that focused on Dib tended to just go on and on and on and on…well, you get the point. He’s always out to prove Zim is an alien, and he always loses, horribly. That plot only works so many times.

let it go

It’s always amazing to me that we as Christians are sometimes the most horrible examples of who Jesus Christ is. One of the main teachings of Christ was forgiveness, and we are so bad at it. I’ll not go into details, nor do I need to, since examples of this are everywhere I look. We hold onto things so long that I wonder if we just haven’t forgotten completely how to let go. Maybe I’m just really good at it, or possibly I just have a really bad memory. Either way, I’m blessed in this area. I won’t take any credit for myself, since I know there are times when I brood on things too. I just try to remember this one thing: Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath. In other words: Never go to bed angry. It’s bad for your health, and it doesn’t make you a very likable person. But if you do (go to bed angry), it’s alright, I forgive you, and so does God.

mix n match

Well, today started out pretty good. We went to Aberdeen and got Mandy’s ring back, but it needs to be smaller still, so that’s frustrating. We had a pretty good time overall though, but then I got home, and one of my fish was dead. I had him in quarantine, and he jumped out of the container and fell on the floor. So I sent him to fishy heaven. Tis sad, cause I was just going to move him to a bigger tank when I got home, and try to breed him and Elbereth this week. Oh well, I’m going to go eat an egg sandwich.

stylin’

Well, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve updated the layout of the site a bit. Integrating it with the gallery is another story. It’s not finished, so if things don’t work, hit refresh, and it’ll probably be back. It still doesn’t work correctly with Internet Exploder, which is no surprise. What is a surprise to me, is that the gallery doesn’t even look right in IE. Oh well, I guess that just gives everyone an excuse to switch, since Everyone visits my site regularly… In case you actually still use IE, and are wondering what you are missing, it’s nothing huge, just a floating menu that I think is crazy cool.

surge

We had a power outage today, and it was fun…
Ok, actually, it was kind of crazy. Fortunately, we have battery backup systems for all of our servers, and we were able to go in and shut them down the right way, so that we lost nothing. Hooray for battery backups!
